IonQ seeks a senior software engineer for the System Orchestration team in Oxford. The role is to build and run a control plane for trapped-ion quantum computers: scheduling and prioritising programs, granting exclusive hardware access, streaming results, persisting state, and keeping calibration and operational records. It asks for stateful-service experience, Rust or another systems language, gRPC/REST, PostgreSQL, concurrency and schedulers. Distinctive: the software runs across the fleet and is meant to automate calibration and readiness without a person in the loop.
