Q-CTRL seeks a senior scientist for its Quantum Sensing Research team in Sydney, a hybrid full-time post. The person designs quantum control schemes and software-layer controls for optically pumped atomic magnetometers, and implements statistical filtering to improve performance in noisy environments. Algorithms, signal processing and data analytics feed into how the sensors are designed, built and operated. The team of about 30 specialists covers atomic physics, cold-atom interferometry, navigation modeling and Bayesian estimation. The emphasis is on small-form-factor magnetometers working reliably in harsh fielded settings.
