IQM is hiring a senior experimental engineer in Espoo to build and run a dilution-refrigerator platform testing optical links between room-temperature electronics and superconducting quantum hardware. Work covers optical signal paths, sample mounting, RF and microwave environment tuning, characterising cryogenic photodiodes, lasers and modulators, qubit gate and readout experiments over optical interconnects, and Python measurement automation. The posting asks for a PhD, five years' relevant experience, hands-on dilution refrigerator work, and network analyser and pulse generator familiarity; grant reporting is included.
