QuEra Computing is hiring a principal optical engineer for its Hardware Engineering Group in Boston, on-site. The role involves designing optical systems, modules and components for neutral-atom quantum computers, leading interdisciplinary teams from concept through production, and troubleshooting at headquarters and customer sites. The posting requires a master's in optics or a related field, 10–15 years outside academia, and depth in free-space optics, lens design, fiber optics, lasers, opto-mechanics and Zemax. Enterprise and startup experience are preferred; neutral-atom experience is a plus.
