A photonic integrated circuit design role in Quandela's Integrated Photonics team in Massy, which handles the full design cycle for the company's optical quantum chips while fabrication is outsourced. The engineer simulates and lays out components — waveguides, interferometers, beam splitters, phase shifters — using Lumerical and GDS tools, prepares tape-outs, and refines models against measured data. A master's or PhD in photonics or physics is required, plus hands-on PIC simulation and layout experience and circuit-level reasoning. Over the first year the work is design-heavy, targeting fabrication tolerance and higher integration density.
