IonQ is hiring a full-time, on-site Optics Technician in Oxford to join its Optical Manufacturing team. The role supports the optics group with builds, upgrades and research work on quantum computers, including optical, mechanical and electrical assembly, keeping the lab and workshop tidy and safe, and maintaining technical documentation. The posting asks for about three years of industrial operations experience, advanced technical assembly under work instructions, PPE-based assembly work, and preferably a Level 3 engineering apprenticeship or equivalent, with fibre optics, optics, electronics, vacuum, delicate parts or lasers.
