Alice & Bob seeks an experimental physics intern for a six-month placement starting between January and March 2027, based in Aubervilliers on a hybrid basis. Within the HERMES team, the intern will set up and operate a cryogenic experiment to characterise flux-tunable resonator chips that probe the electromagnetic environment of superconducting quantum processors. The aim is to extend flux noise sensing beyond the narrow band imposed by a Pound-Drever-Hall feedback lock: identifying limits to broadband operation, then proposing and testing fixes with quantum and RF characterisation engineers.
