Q-CTRL is hiring a staff research scientist to establish and lead a research program on fault-tolerant quantum applications within its Applications & Algorithms team. The work involves identifying applications that could justify fault-tolerant quantum computers, then developing algorithms, implementations and quantitative resource analyses, from application level down to algorithmic primitives and logical resource requirements. Collaboration with researchers in error correction, compilation, control and quantum software is expected. Most work is theory, simulation, resource estimation and research software, with selective hardware use. Interests include scientific simulation, quantum chemistry and many-body physics.
