IonQ is hiring a staff-level scientist for its Quantum Applications team, based in Gothenburg or Toronto, to design hybrid quantum-classical algorithms for life sciences problems such as drug discovery and therapeutics, aimed at commercial use. The work spans optimising workflows for trapped-ion hardware with compiler and cloud engineers, and presenting results to client teams. The posting asks for a doctorate or equivalent, three-plus years with computational and ML/AI tools in bioinformatics, and three-plus years developing quantum algorithms in Python using Qiskit, PennyLane or Cirq.
