IonQ is hiring a senior engineer to run the classical computing and network layer beneath its quantum hardware builds in College Park, Maryland. The work is concrete: provisioning Linux servers and system heads by PXE, keeping provisioning reproducible with Ansible, Packer or Terraform, configuring VLANs, switches and firewalls for lab and datacenter networks, and integrating cameras, laser controls and custom drivers into the compute environment. The posting asks for six-plus years of hands-on systems or network work, Python or Go scripting, and IPMI/BMC experience; infrastructure failures here block experiments directly.
