IonQ seeks a senior scientist for its Quantum Applications team, based in Gothenburg or Toronto, to build hybrid quantum algorithms and workflows for life-sciences problems on trapped-ion computers. The work spans client-facing problem definition, reusable software platforms, and collaboration with compiler, cloud and hardware engineers. The posting asks for a doctorate in life sciences or equivalent experience, computational or ML/AI work in bioinformatics or molecular biology, and hands-on quantum algorithm development with Python and SDKs such as Qiskit, PennyLane or Cirq. It involves customer work and about 10% travel.
