QuantumDiamonds, a TU Munich spin-off based in Munich, is hiring a senior optical design engineer to own the imaging and illumination optics inside its NV-diamond quantum sensing platform for semiconductor inspection. The role covers first-principles design of high-NA, wide-field, long-working-distance objectives, Zemax modelling and tolerancing, prototype alignment and metrology, and transfer to production. The posting asks for 5+ years of real optical system design, ZEMAX fluency, Python, and hands-on bench skills. Ownership runs from concept through manufacturing.
