Atom Computing is hiring an optical physicist to develop optical devices for its trapped-neutral-atom quantum computers. The work involves conceiving, modeling and prototyping devices with new operating modes, then qualifying them and integrating them into quantum systems alongside engineers. The posting targets PhD-level physicists or optical scientists with backgrounds in optoelectronics, optical cavities and modulators, and laser physics. Experience with neutral-atom trapping or cold atoms is explicitly not required, which distinguishes the role from many quantum-hardware positions.
