A co-op in QuEra's Hardware Engineering Group, supporting the optical hardware behind its neutral-atom quantum computers. The co-op helps design, build and test optical sub-systems and modules, does hands-on assembly, alignment, cleaning and characterization, contributes to documentation and design reviews, and works with R&D staff to move scientific results toward products, with some troubleshooting at headquarters. The posting seeks a current M.S. or PhD student in optics or applied physics with non-academic experience in optical and opto-mechanical systems, plus Zemax and CAD skills. Pay is $50–$60 per hour.
