The person operates punch presses, grinders, drill presses, shears, cut-off wheels and band saws; deburrs parts, checks and chases threads, glues assemblies, washes and stages parts, keeps production records and helps with routine machine maintenance. The posting asks for a high school diploma or GED, preferably six months of machine shop or metal fabrication experience, basic math and mechanical aptitude. The components support cryogenic systems used in quantum technology; pay is $20.48–$25.28/hr (DOE).
