Physics With Friends runs a weekly online course on quantum information theory, held Thursdays from 6 to 7:30 pm US West Coast Pacific time and beginning March 20, 2025. The syllabus has three parts: classical information theory, an introduction to quantum information theory, and advanced quantum information theory. Readings come from Cover and Thomas, Nielsen and Chuang, Khatri, Lami and Wilde, Watrous, and Wilde. The course aims to prepare participants to read Watrous- and Wilde-level textbooks and Preskill's chapter on quantum Shannon Theory, with more problem-solving in later technical sections.
