Bluefors

Bluefors makes cryogenic measurement systems, dilution refrigerators and cryocoolers used in quantum technology and scientific research.

In inglese

Bluefors began at Helsinki University of Technology’s Low Temperature Laboratory. Rob Blaauwgeers developed an automated, cryogen-free dilution refrigerator; he and cryogenic engineer Pieter Vorselman founded BlueFors Cryogenics in 2008. The company is now known as Bluefors. Bluefors builds dilution refrigerators, cryogenic measurement infrastructure and cryocoolers. Its systems provide the ultra-low temperatures needed for quantum technology as well as fundamental physics research and other applications. On March 28, 2023, Bluefors completed its acquisition of Cryomech, adding cryocoolers and expanding its product range. On March 3, 2026, it announced a Modular Cryogenic Platform designed to scale quantum-computing infrastructure. Bluefors supplies infrastructure for quantum technology. Its global headquarters in Helsinki designs and manufactures cryogenic measurement systems, and the company also operates internationally.
