QuEra Computing

QuEra builds neutral-atom quantum computers, including analog and gate-based systems.

Founded in 2018, QuEra grew out of neutral-atom research at Harvard and MIT. Its founders include Mikhail Lukin, Vladan Vuletić, Markus Greiner, Dirk Englund and Nathan Gemelke. The company builds quantum computers that use arrays of neutral atoms as qubits. Its systems include Aquila, an analog machine, and Gemini, a gate-based system. In November 2022, Aquila became publicly accessible through Amazon Braket. In December 2023, a Harvard-MIT-QuEra team demonstrated a logical quantum processor based on reconfigurable atom arrays. In 2025, QuEra announced Gemini’s deployment in Japan and completed a Series B financing of more than $230 million. QuEra is developing neutral-atom systems for quantum computing, including work toward fault-tolerant machines. Its systems are available through cloud access and on-premises deployment.
