Quandela
Quandela builds photonic quantum computers and provides quantum computing software and cloud access.
Quandela was founded in 2017 by Pascale Senellart, Niccolò Somaschi and Valérian Giesz. The company began by commercialising efficient single-photon sources developed through quantum-photonics research. The company builds photonic quantum computers and develops related hardware, middleware and software. Its offerings include cloud-accessible quantum processors, single-photon sources and Perceval, an open-source Python-based framework for photonic quantum computing. Quandela launched its cloud service in 2022 and delivered its first quantum computer to OVHcloud in 2023. On October 23, 2025, Quandela, GENCI and CEA announced the delivery of Lucy, a 12-qubit photonic quantum computer, to CEA’s Très Grand Centre de calcul. The system was supplied by the Quandela–attocube consortium and procured by EuroHPC Joint Undertaking. Quandela develops and deploys complete photonic quantum-computing systems accessible both through the cloud and on premises.
