Alice & Bob

Alice & Bob develops superconducting cat-qubit hardware for universal, fault-tolerant quantum computing.

Alice & Bob was founded in 2020 by physicists Théau Peronnin and Raphaël Lescanne, building on Lescanne’s research into cat qubits. The company says it aims to bring this technology from the laboratory to industry. It develops quantum computers based on superconducting cat qubits, a design intended to protect against bit-flip errors. Its platform includes Helium, described by the company as a testbed for error correction. In January 2025, Alice & Bob announced a €100 million Series B. In September 2025, it reported measuring an average 44-minute bit-flip lifetime in a lab experiment. On May 22, 2026, it announced an investment from NVIDIA’s NVentures as an extension of that round. Today, Alice & Bob is developing cat-qubit systems toward universal, fault-tolerant quantum computing. Its website describes the company as based in Paris and Boston; its headquarters are in Paris.
